So Christmas has been and gone, we had a great time and I got lots of lovely craft goodies.
Amongst other things I got a bag of lovely papers and bits from my sister, and had a fabulous day using them to recycle Amazon packages. The papers were do crafts, and are full of lovely images of buttons, thread and pins. The results are nice unfortunately, I don't think I would be able sell them for more than £7, and they took about 2 hours to make.
I did however discover a fabulous glue, Pritt Super Gel, it acts like super glue, looks like super glue, mucks up your hands like super glue, but washes of hands and clothes easily at 40 degrees! how ace is that. it meant that I was able to create quickly including heavy embellishments, and is a great possibility for use with craft clubs, when you want to create masterpieces, with kids in an hour.
Before I get onto new year stuff, I need to mention this weeks top tip. crackers are a great source, of Ribbon, Metallic card stock, toppers, and even game pieces that can be used for altered art, so I hope you haven't thrown any away, my mum bought some beautiful Nutcracker crackers, and even the box sides and inner, which has the music printed on in purple, will be recycled in a crafty way. Thanks Mum!!!!
Ok, New Year resolutions. I don't believe in them they are a guaranteed way to ensure that thing doesn't happen. I do however have plans for the new year. I have created my first felt Dinosaur (pictures to come), he's for my daughter, but I will produce others that will be available to buy. I am trying to source locally produced fleece, and dyes including 'Florance red' for the local iron mine to use in pottery and to dye fleece for foxes and squirrels. And I want to make more use of sites like pin interest.
What crafty plans have you got for New Year?
So back to reality of getting the family ready for the new term, and more importantly gaining me time to craft!
